Carolyn has a particular focus on the role of lifestyle, especially diet, in the management and prevention of disease. Carolyn brings not just 30 years' experience as a specialist GP to our practice, but also at least a decade as a trailblazer, working with patients to treat and reverse insulin resistance.
Working closely with our dietitian Nicole Moore, Carolyn has helped dozens of patients to sustainably lose weight, as well as putting their type 2 diabetes, PCOS and non alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) into remission,. Carolyn works with her patients to create an individual plan, utilizing care plans and a high quality team approach in particular incorporating the use of low carb and ketogenic diets.
One of our favourite aspects of Carolyn's work as a GP is her empathic and soulful approach. Carolyn sees every patient as an absolute individual, and takes the time to understand every aspect of her patient's story, and create with them a unique program to help them achieve their goals and sustain their health improvements in the long term.
When not consulting, Carolyn is a mum of four, a committed gardener, caretaker of a ridiculously overachieving lemon tree, meditator and yoganista.

Nicole has been an Accredited Practising Dietitian for 22 years and is the founder of Menuconcepts. Nicole ran a successful low carb private practice nationally, with 55 clinics, mentoring, patients, doctors and dietitians in all things low carb. I regularly present to GP groups and the general public about the benefits of low carb and how to practically achieve this lifestyle. I am the Defeat Diabetes Dietitian for Australia and work closely with Dr Peter Brukner (founder defeat diabetes, author) and Dr Paul Mason (low carb sports and exercise physician) to help people reverse chronic disease.
Nicole offers services to help with reversing chronic disease, weight loss, diabetes reversal, gut health and healing (bloating constipation diarrhoea pain wind), FODMAP diets, anti-inflammatory diets, allergies and food intolerances. I practice Low Carb Healthy Fat which is an extremely effective alternative to traditional weight loss methods.
My service also covers a range of common health ailments including but not limited to; high blood pressure, reflux, low iron levels, fertility issues, diabetes, high cholesterol, constipation, reflux and eating disorders.
About Me..
I've been a dietitian for 22 years now and my personal low carb journey started about 10 years ago. I was increasingly frustrated that I just couldn't get results for many of my patients - including myself. Yes, I had also struggled with my weight, and found that the traditional low-fat, low calorie, portion controlling strategies just weren’t working. In fact, I found the more I followed the low-fat paradigm the more lethargic and bloated and fatter I became.
So, one day I just decided to look outside the square, and research different, modern nutritional strategies. This is where I eventually discovered low carb. I was transformed from the dietitian that sat down and pulled out people’s calories and told them to count how many grams of fat they were having and watch their portions, to someone who said eat as much protein and healthy fat as you like - just don’t eat carbs and sugar!
